Wild Grey Art
Sarah trained in 3 dimensional art and design and specialised in silversmithing and jewellery and over the years has sold her jewellery in several galleries around the country. Since moving to the seaside a few years ago she has diversified into creating hand formed wire wall art and 3d pieces.
She has always been inspired by natural forms, specifically seedheads, flowers and trees, which she incorporates into her designs. A fascination for beach combing has also inspired a seaside theme of beach huts and oyster catchers and she likes to add driftwood to her pieces. She hand forms each wire 'shape' and lacquers it before she mounts it onto beautiful pices of driftwood that she has sanded and waxed. In her framed work she mounts the driftwood and wire onto pieces of textured wood before incorporating this into one of her handmade frames. Contemporary colours enhance her work.
