Joey Ruthers

With a background in illustration joey started making tiny ceramic things to paint on in 2018. She is now a full time potter creating small ceramic worlds in her studio shed. Influenced by folk art, ghost stories and her black cat Maeby, her work often tries to tell a story, but in the end she is ultimately happy if it makes you smile.

All tiny things are hand built, larger vases are slip cast and mugs and bowls are thrown, all from earthenware clay. Every piece is hand painted, often with a transparent underglaze which gives the effect of watercolour.
