'My connection with clay goes back some 37 years to some inspirational tutoring at Grimsby School of Art, I then went on to study for a BA(hons) in 3D Design - Ceramics at Wolverhampton Polytechnic, achieving  a 1st. Subsequently I gained an MA(RCA) in Ceramics & Glass at the Royal College of Art. During my time at the latter I had the opportunity to complete a work placement at Wedgwood in Stoke on Trent. 

 

Bizarrely, I opted for a career as a secondary phase Design & Technology teacher, from which I have recently taken early retirement after 27 years, 21 as a faculty head. I am now in the process of making up for lost time in an attempt to deal with some 'unfinished business' with studio pottery!'
